Since January is over, I thought I would post a few random pics that I have taken throughout the month. I’m sad that it went by so quickly because it means my time here will also go by quickly. At least I’m enjoying it.

The designs in front of the entrance of a home is called rangoli, and it’s usually done for festivals. The word ‘rang’ means color in Hindi.

Chowmahallah Palace was once the home of the Nizams, a rich and powerful family in Hyderabad. It’s a beautiful place and definitely the most amazing home I’ve ever seen. They lived in luxury while the rest of the people in Hyderabad had little or nothing. The Nizams resided there up until a few decades ago, then they left to live in France.

Palolem Beach is an easy way to spend too much money.

Fabric store, I ended up with two tailor made outfits.

I’m not crazy about McDonald’s in the US, but this veggie burger was mighty tasty. I wish McDonald’s in the US could learn a thing or two from Indian McDonald’s.

This is a new addition to campus, it’s about a week old now. There are slogans like this painted a several intersections on campus.
